Finding Your Message

This part of the journey is about connecting with your sense of community. One or both of the practices below may help you listen for what wants to emerge. If you would like, you can also check the Inspirational Messages page for more ideas.

Mindful Awareness

This meditation unfolds naturally throughout your day, allowing reflection to appear in ordinary moments.

You might carry your Stuffie with you as you move through your routines. Or you might choose to set aside a few quiet minutes to sit and reflect. Bring your Stuffie along in whatever way feels natural. Let the presence of your Stuffie interrupt autopilot.

Notice what arises.

  • Which thoughts linger?
  • Which questions return again and again?
  • What feels worth naming?

Allow your message to take shape in the spaces between tasks. When something feels steady and true, write it down.

Guided Meditation

Choose a time and place where you can focus for about 15 minutes. If helpful, set a reminder or block out time on your calendar. When you're ready, bring your Stuffie with you.

Get Grounded

For the next few minutes, let your worries rest beside you. They don't need to disappear — just give yourself permission not to carry them right now.

Grounded means:

  • Your mind is here, not racing ahead
  • Your body is at ease, not tense
  • Your breathing is natural and steady

Focus Your Attention

Expand your awareness to the people around you — in your building, your neighborhood, or nearby homes. Imagine them moving through their day: cooking, working, resting, caring for others, solving problems, living their lives.

Each person carries their own hopes, struggles, skills, and kindness.

Pause to appreciate how many lives are unfolding alongside yours.

Now imagine how life might feel with a little more connection — a little more mutual support. Perhaps meals would be shared, problems would feel lighter, or friendships would form more easily.

Consider what community could look like in your own life.

Recall someone you encountered recently. Maybe they smiled at you, held a door, spoke kindly, or simply acknowledged your presence. Small moments of care can be powerful.

Remember that these moments matter. Every act of kindness adds to something larger.

If it feels comfortable, repeat this aloud four times:

I make my community stronger, and my community makes me stronger.

Carry This Forward

The exercise is over, and now you must continue on with all the living you have to do today. Let what you experienced settle quietly within you. In the coming days, return to your Stuffie and listen for the message that wants to be shared.
